Welcome to the August Newsletter
As London 2012 concludes, we all move back from the edge of our seats and our Olympians go home, it was easy to get carried away with the ambitions and hopes of a nation expecting much. So now it’s back to ‘business as normal’ but I am sure we can all take something away from the wonderful spectacle that Team GB provided and take a leaf out of their book in terms of the hard work, dedication and what an attention to detail can do.
Continuing on that sporting theme, we have had our own baton change recently when Tom McClure passed the role of Account Manager over to our latest recruit Andy Mills. Andy will be your first point of contact for any upgrade and account/licensing information and is currently trying to get to see as many of our customers as he can over the coming months. Tom will be moving into a Consultancy based role so will continue working with the customer base albeit in a more technical and training capacity.
It may be the height of summer but our Development team, along with the senior Consultants, are busy getting the next release (2013r1) into shape for the October release. The October release will, amongst other things, feature improvement to JAVELIN’s capabilities in handling customer related information and management of. Everyone will have the opportunity to view and have explained, the updates and increased functionality of this and the previous April release at the annual Customer Events in October. See our Events section below for details.
We have recently made additions to our Consultancy team who carry out various activities for us and provide Consultancy, Training, Bespoke specifications and Report writing to our customer base. The increased capacity will add more flexibility to the team and improve our customer response times. Coupled with this of course comes the advantage of having more people to provide training courses and programs whether it be at customer site, on-line or at our Enderby offices. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as your new Account Manager.
I have joined the company following 30+ years in Production Engineering and System Administration. Starting my career as an apprentice in the heavy engineering sector in my home town of Sheffield I have progressed to senior levels of Production Control and System Administration Management. The last 12 years of which I have been associated with the Jobshop/JAVELIN product.
I have implemented the Jobshop system in Joinery and Metal Fabrication environments and managed subsequent version upgrades.
I believe that from this practical system user background I am uniquely placed to achieve my core role. This is to maximize your investment in the system and manage your customer experience.
I look forward to meeting you all, and together we can take our part in securing the future of UK manufacturing.
Account Manager
Pervasive Price Increase
We have been advized by one of our Third Party software suppliers, Pervasive Software, that they will be bringing in a significant price increase effective April 2012.
Those customers that operate our Jobshop versions will utilize the Pervasive database software and anyone increasing their license count will be liable to these new Pervasive rates from April onwards.
Customers with the later JAVELIN versions use the MS SQL database and are unaffected.
Jobshop / JAVELIN license prices will be remain unchanged.
